Tornadoes and Microbursts blow through the Panhandle

#1 Postby FWBHurricane » Thu Nov 25, 2004 7:06 am

Local reports say that a small tornado blew through Freeport, damaging many homes and businesses. It soon crossed Choctawhatchee Bay and moved onshore around Santa Rosa Beach. Many Mobile homes are damaged, it also upended a travel trailor. Over $200,00 dollars is the estimated price tag for all the damage it caused. Luckily nobody was hurt. In Fort Walton ( Mary Esther ) a small microburst blew off some of the roof awnings at Mary Esther elementary. Nobody was inujured. Now its going to get really cold, temps getting as low as the mid 30s. Im kinda glad its getting cooler, temps here have been unseasonably high...it was in the lower 80s a few days ago. Also, its been over two months since Ivan hit and we still havnt found anyone to fix our roof, so now since that microburst went through...it has ripped more weakened shingles from Ivan off the roof...arrg!! :grr:
