#1 Postby Nalora » Tue May 13, 2003 9:51 am

Storm that hit southside or Moore area is now officially an F4 with F4 damage at the GM plant and beyond.

Storm that hit northside or Bethany is now officially F3 storm with F3 damage at Frontier City area (Frontier City is an amusement park, it was NOT hit.)

For those who want to know I live at 66th and South Penn near the Will Rogers Airport, or the crossing of I240 and I44.

Valley Brook sits on 59th street on Southside which is about 2 miles from me.

Nalora, thanks for the update!! Looks like Tinker AFB has a dome around it or something!! It is where the very first tornado warnings ever issued originated from if I remember correctly.

I just found this online.....

"CELEBRATION OF THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST TORNADO FORECAST. On 23-25 March 1998, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Weather Service (NWS) and National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL), in cooperation with the University of Oklahoma and the US Air Force will host an extended celebration in Norman, Oklahoma, and at Tinker AFB (located approximately 10 miles north of Norman) as a tribute to the past 50 years of tornado forecasting. See NWA November 1997 Newsletter or NWA Home page (http://www.nwas.org) for more complete information."
