FORT WORTH, Texas (Star-Telegram) - No significant problems were found in Fort Worth's new warning-siren system during a citywide test Tuesday, said Raymond Rivas, an emergency management officer.
Beginning in March, sirens will be tested at 1 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the month, weather permitting, Rivas said. Sirens are tested only in good weather to prevent confusion, he said. The city's old sirens, some dating to the 1950s, are scheduled to be taken down this year.
