Yet another potential for SVR WX in the SE on TUES/WED...

After yesterday's round of SVR WX, which included a 67 MPH wind gust in neighborhooding Berkeley County from what was relatively meager convection (with very little in the way of rainfall), but many reports of wind damage... yet again, another potential setup coming for more SVR in the TUES/WED timeframe for this region ... guidance suggests that there will be more SBT moisture involved this time, which could result in stronger convection than Saturday's event ...

Lapse rates aren't that steep, so this should limit again on the number of hail reports, but IF this verifies and pans out, this would be the 3rd SVR WX outbreak for South Carolina in just a matter of a couple of weeks ... and all three would have come about with storm motion from E to SE ... (typical for the stronger SVR WX outbreaks in SC where less of a marinal influence is felt) ... glad this isn't spring or summertime, yet.

Looks like its coming at the worst time of day too overnight when everyone is asleep

Monday Night...Partly cloudy with chance of showers in the evening...Then mostly cloudy with showers likely and isolated thunderstorms after midnight. Warmer. Lows in the mid 50s. Southwest winds 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 60 percent.

Tuesday...Partly cloudy and cooler. A 50 percent chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms in the morning. Highs in the mid 60s. West winds 10 to 15 mph.

Carolinas hit hard, particularly NC very hard hit ...

Numerous reports of wind damage with a few tornadoes, mainly in NC today, with the rest coming from lower SC ... unbelievable deepening of the storm system resulted in 2 main areas of damage. Particularly hard hit today in NC are numerous locations with gusts in excess of hurricane force ... including 89 MPH at ILM, 86 MPH 1 mile S of Belhaven in Beaufort County, and 110 MPH at Kill Devil Hills ...

I read on the SPC site, too, that 2 peeps were hurt when a barn collapsed during the storms in Chatham Co NC...west of the Raleigh-Durham area!

14,000 chickens also killed after 2 buildings housing them blew apart in Cumberland Co NC.

Update from Eastern NC: Tree fell through roof of school while students taking a test, this school is about 20 miles from my house (Greene Central High School.) Scrapes and bruises were the worst of injuries to approx 5 students. Just north of this area in Wilson County several houses were severely damaged by winds, video showed one blown apart, many porches blown off. Many cars damaged by falling branches in Greenville.

Local TV showed winds over 48 mph all over eastern NC, with 86 being highest reading shown, 64-70 in my area. TV station was fiming Tricentennial Celebration in Bath, NC (state's first capital) when storm rolled through, disrupting ceremonies (supposedly curse put upon town almost 300 years ago by a minister for the residents ungodly ways, perhaps curse still there?) Anyway, State Police is filmed dragging TV crew inside for their own safety "There is all kinds of debris flying out here, you got to get inside," said the trooper.

Storm woke me up around 11 am, power went out for about 45 minutes (twice.) Small hail visible (and audible) on my window. Many branches down in my yard, some over 5 inches around. Fortunately for me, this time none of my cars were struck (I've lost several windshields, one truck totalled, another had every body panel damaged by small tree.)
