AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HOUSTON/GALVESTON TX
152 PM CST THU MAR 10 2005

.DISCUSSION...
PERIOD OF QUIET/DRY WX EXPECTED TO CONTINUE THESE NEXT FEW DAYS AS NWLY FLOW ALOFT DOMINATES THE OVERALL PATTERN. FROPA TOMORROW ONLY TO SERVE AS A RE-ENFORCEMENT OF THE CURRENT AIRMASS OVER THE AREA.
NO POPS IN THE OFFING AS THE SOUNDINGS REMAIN VERY DRY AND STABLE.
WITH WEAK SFC RIDGING AND THE DEEPENING LOW OVER THE NE STATES...A DEVELOPING SWLY FLOW AT THE SFC TO HELP PROVIDE FOR A NICE WARM-UP OVER THE WEEKEND. GUIDANCE HINTING THAT WE MAY EVEN BREAK INTO THE 80S (ALBEIT THE LOWER 80S) DURING THE TIMEFRAME. INCREASING CLOUDS
LATE SUNDAY AHEAD OF THE NEXT FRONT SLATED FOR A MONDAY FROPA. NOT TERRIBLY EXCITED ABOUT POPS FOR THIS EVENT EITHER AS MOISTURE PROFILES STILL LOOK A TAD FORCED. HOWEVER WILL GO AHEAD AND THROW 20% IN FOR NOW AS THE UPPER PATTERN BEGINS TO LOOK MORE FAVORABLE (I.E. WINDS ALOFT BECOMING MORE SWLY WITH TIME) AND THE CHANCES OF UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCES MOVING IN INCREASE. LATEST EXTENDED RANGE PROGS INDICATE A RATHER WET TUE-THU TIMEFRAME AS A SERIES OF STRONG S/WS
APPROACH AND MOVE ACROSS THE REGION. 41

Still waiting for it to come back here. Was 64 a few days ago. Has struggled to reach the 30's last couple of days. Still snow blowing around too. BURRR!!!

Pattern looks to hold sway through Mid Next Week
