Windy in Southern California

#1 Postby azskyman » Sat Apr 09, 2005 9:23 am

Hi from the south bay of Los Angeles. Here with the grandkids until tomorrow.

While the daytime hours were breezy to windy yesterday, the marine layer roared in with high winds and some tree damage in the evening and overnight. Anticipating some more 60 mph+ winds at times again today or tonight.

Combinaton of marine layer fog and strong winds reminds you how potent the forces of nature can be near an ocean.

We're about 2 miles inland and upslope here in Rancho Palos Verdes.

Sun is out this morning though, with breezy, but not wild, conditions. Probably no trip to the beach today with the grandgirls unless I can be guaranteed they won't blow into Orange County on a wild wind gust!

It's windy in AZ as well. Want wind and fog go to Pt.Reyes in July-that place is considered the windiest place in the US during that Month with 40-50 mph wind gusts common with dense fog.
