Anyone here from Stormtrack.org?

#1 Postby creisored » Mon Jun 13, 2005 3:03 pm

I ask because I've tried for 3 months to join that site. I filled out the application, they emailed me the user name/password to activate, and then it said that I should log in to activate it. I did, and it won't accept it, even though the ID/password combo is what they gave me.

I then tried to email them 3X to ask what the problem was and no one ever got back to me.

I mean, I have an interest in severe weather spanning YEARS (however minimal it is in northern MN!) and have been a Skywarn spotter for 3 years. I don't get what's up. Anyone know how to contact anyone from there directly??

You DO know that there is a MN chaser group? I have an e-mail correspondent who chases storms in MN and into the Dakotas (with an occasional foray into IA and the Plains. He also lives in Duluth which he admits is a horrid place to get severe because of the Lake Effect off Superior in the Summer.

Last I knew, one of the contributors to my former weather magazine, Tim Vasquez, was still involved with Stormtrack. Try reaching him at weatherman@weathergraphics.com. Perhaps he is still active there and could help you out. If so, let him know that Steve from the AWO sent you there!!

Ive been a member there for about 2 and a half years now...One problem might be is that you might have used a screen name instead of your real name? just a thought

I am not a member, but I do lurk there as a guest. You need to use your FULL name according to the site guidelines.

I am a member and I have spoke with Tim Vasquez recently. I do believe that he is a little behind on allowing new members, plus I do believe that he may start trying to weed out people that aren't posting. Not totally sure on the last part...

Well, I tried it again. I did use my real name before. Now I can't even read anything because the forum is locked. Oh well.
