6-13-05.....Minnesota chase

#1 Postby ssom04 » Mon Jun 13, 2005 11:07 pm

Total Miles- 87 miles

Best thing- possible brief funnel, this was slowly roatating too..also 50 mph estimated
winds.

We first started going after the tornadic warned storms in redwood county but instead took a turn east after hearing about new development north of St. peter minnesota..about 25 miles where we were. We caught up to these cells close to sunset but still another 45 minutes till its complete darkness. Anyways we followed a brief rotating funnel for about 3 minutes before it fell apart :( Also with this storm golf ball sized hail was reported but we didnt core punch it to find out lol

Overall chase score out of 10- 6/10 because of the funnel and just being able to chase lol

Nice structure shots man, but yesterday was a very disappointing day on my end. Things looked so good and then things developed on a large scale at once and inflow was really cut off to storms that tried to go discrete. Best storm I saw of the day was in SRN Missouri (Crawford County?) and another in Southern Illinois at the onset of initiation.
