That's not the first time I have seen this.

I have a feeling that the NWS has a software program where you choose the event type amongst other options, and the author just made a wrong option.

BTW...Back in the '1990s I was in St. Louis on vacation visiting family. I was watching The Weather Channel's current conditions (they used to display a gridded list). One of the minor Illinois' OBS sites was reporting SNOW and 80! :lol: :lol:

This reminds me of the observation about 10 years ago, when Worcester (ORH) reported volcanic ash falling. All of the reporting stations around Worcester were reporting sunny to mostly sunny skies.

Ah, one can't mention fun NWS reports without mentioning the "Excessive Heat Warning" for 2 counties in Missouri in February. The cause? Earth was off of it's orbit and heading towards the sun.
