Actually here the hottest July ever recorded was in 1999 with second place in 1993. This July was only a degree above normal (give or take +0.5) because of a few cool and rainy days in early July which were mainly felt only along the coast. August is shaping up to be much warmer though.

In Central Park they only had 13 90+ degree days but everyone knows its because their thermometer is surrounded by vegetation and it cools it down 3-5 degrees from everyone else pretty often. Around the rest of the NYC area we've seen about 20 90+ days. I myself have experienced the 19th one today with a high of 93.

We are, but it's not just us, the Midwest, Plains and SW are baking as well!

After this cool Spring, the old adage "be careful what you wish for" is VERY appropriate for the summer! This is unbelievable!!

Today was 99, 22nd 90+ degree day today.

1999 was the hottest July on record, but August was cool. 1995 was hot July and August, and it looks like this year will be similar.

We are still at ZERO 90-degree days for the summer!!

The highest temperature reached this year in Seattle is 89 degrees... back in May. We have hit 87 degrees a couple times since then.

Lots of upper 70's and low 80's.

The Central Park thermometer has finally stopped screwing around and temperatures are about the same as they are in Newark as should be. Guess the heat and dry weather withered all the vegetation there...

If CPK was taking measurements properly we would be up to 25 90+ days like I am.

Why does Atlanta have so few 90's? I have noticed that it has had less 90's than most eastern cities for the last few years.

It was terrible today, it was 96degrees with a 76 dewpoint at 3pm

Here in North Myrtle beach the air is extremely humid, when i look out across the area it is misty the air movement is dead calm, and the heat index is rising although the sun is not out. Looking at satellite views I wonder if this is some of Irene that was sheared away. If anyone knows i would appreciate the info.

Absolute horrific today until the thunderstorms came through. Thankfully all we have to look forward to next week is upper 80s...oh well thats still much better than upper 90s to lower 100s.

Yeah, I noticed a few years back that it doesn't often get over 90 in Worcester...which is great. Parts east and west can be roasting in the upper 90's and it'll be like 10 degrees cooler here.
