question about snow

I live in the midlands of Sc and LOVE the snow BUT it hardly ever does here we've had some ice storms but that isnt quite as fun as the white stuff. What weather factors would we have to have to have a significant snowfall here and what are the odds in your opinion of snow for us this year. Just curious

The only snow I've seen is on tv.....Never seen the stuff for real...
