With 0.71" rainfall yesterday, New York City reached 50" precipitation for the third consecutive year. This ties the record for the longest stretch of years with 50" or more precipitation. 1971-1973 also saw 3 consecutive seasons. 1974 just missed with 47.69" and 1975 picked up 61.21". So, even as 2005 tied the record for most 50" seasons, this does not necessarily indicate that 2006 will be much drier.
56.77"
67.03"
57.23"
58.56"
51.97"
50.29" (through November 29)
