New to Storm Chasing

#1 Postby rockst0ne » Fri Dec 30, 2005 3:15 pm

Hi,

I'm planning on heading down to KS / OK / NE / TX in late April / May to do some storm chasing. Well...I'm heading down there with a buddy and it's our first time chasing together. Any suggestions? We’re bringing a laptop for forecasting and radar, a ham radio and phone for communication, a video and still camera. Anything I’m forgetting?

I’m familiar with basic storm formation and characteristics of movement and development, but I'm wondering any of your experiences with first time chasers and what I should expect? Probably a big bust? He will be my navigation guide.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Taylor
