Key West FL 48F ** first time the temp has been below 50F since January 24th 2003**

wow. They hit the 40s in Key west? 48 is only 7 degrees above their all time record low. At 48 you would actually need a light jacket or sweater down there. It would be weird to be there on vacation expecting lows in the 60s, highs in the 80s and then ending up getting lows in the 40s and highs in the 60s (high was 66 there yesterday). It would feel even colder too because there is always a light breeze down there.

Actually, the temperatures in Saint Thomas don't vary too much from day to day.

[digs up climo charts]This time of January, the average lows run around 72-73°F whereas the record daily lows run around 69-70°F. For the entire month of January as a whole, the mean low is 73°F with an extreme low of 62.

Missed one ... Campo, CA hit 18°F early this morning, tying a record from 1966. :)
