looks like the storms are getting stronger north of Houston. Looks like some nice storms are heading towards the Lufkin area. Earlier Matagorda county saw GOLF BALL SIZED HAIL! But then the storms died as they crossed Houston to just some heavy rain, but now it looks like they are firing up again to our north. The NWS has lowered rain chances for tonight from 70% to 50%. I hope that the 100% for tomorrow stays and that we get a good, long 1-3" soaking! That would be nice...

We've been getting pounded all morning long here in central Montgomery County...over an inch easy. The tail end of this system is pushing off the north and we will see a break after this. I'm not sure if we will get anymore after this one moves through but I sure hope so.

We have been having some light rain around here all day, looks like the most of it is off to the east of here... It was just nice to have a yucky rainy day for once! :ggreen:

I am getting rain shower after rain shower after rain shower today. I have also had 2-3 storms with thunder and heavy rain. I would predict I have seen 1-2" easy so far today. Also, looking on radar, another storm seems to be approaching from the south and I can already hear the thunder.

I just noticed that dewpoints are beginning to fall a bit (from the lower 50s earlier to the middle 40s now), as they have fallen, the temps. have also fallen. I am in the middle 40s right now at my house and hooks is at 48 (down from the lower to middle 50s). It feels winter-like for sure! Latest forecast for tomorrow is another chilly one...cloudy with a high in the lower 50s. Rain chances are back on Wednesday!

Spoke to soon, just had a huge burst of rain with lots of lightning and thunder. Rain guage has spiked up to 1/2 inch. After this little back edge of heavy rain, looks like that will be it for me! Oh well, 1/2 inch is certainly better than 0.1". Besides, areas that needed this rain way more than I did got some today. North Texas looked to have gotten a pretty good soaking. That I am happy for.

I thought so too when I saw it but it was surprisingly little. I guess that's it for the big rain event with huge chances of rain Saturday night, today and tonight.

Normally, I wouldn't complain but we really need it. Looks like a whopping 0.16" here and I don't see anything else coming. :(
