Hail in NW Houston!

#1 Postby Extremeweatherguy » Wed Mar 29, 2006 4:56 pm

Well folks...it looked un-eventful today and then at the last moment a severe storm pops up in SW Houston and heads right for my house (in NW Houston)! It started out dark with some lightning...next thing you know the sky is a scary display of the weirdest looking clouds ever! Then as the storm moves in...I get 45mph wind gusts and penny sized hail begins falling from the sky! A few minutes later the penny sized hail turned into a barage of pea to dime sized hail that lasted a good ten minutes. The hail is beginning to wind down now, but wow...what a storm (and out of the blue too)!

Did anyone else see hail from this system? If so...how big was your hail? How long did it last? Was there any damage?
