Fire Dangers

#1 Postby Aquawind » Tue May 02, 2006 5:41 am

Lee County has a 642 index. I am kind of suprised were not on these maps.. Fires all over Florida these days.. Of course I woke up at 4:00 AM this morning to fire trucks putting a baze out in the woods accross the street so I had to check these maps out being I was awake so early. Were 6 inches below normal, but this is dry season so evidently we have to get over 700 for critical? No real rain in sight for us down here..

We had a 2000 acre fire this weekend that some 10-14 year old boys started..of course some locals wanna flog them and try them as adults. We had 12+ homes total losses and another bunch damaged along with 35 vehicles, pets, etc.. I would assume some punks did the same accross the street as it was cool and light winds last night.
