Yep, I'm keeping an eye on that disturbance heading down from the north - those cells are pretty intense.

BTW - the funnels seen earlier today in Baytown were not part of a "traditional" severe event. They were short-lived, tropical funnels that are very common in the early PM along the Gulf Coast/Tropics beginning this time of year thru the summer seabreeze season.

I"m here at work off of Rayford Rd. and we've got a good one fixing to hit us. It looks to be getting stronger. Lots of thunder outside so it's just a mattter of time. I live just south of Lake Conroe Dam and that severe thunderstorm for up that way has weakened. My wife said it was just a good soaker...no hail. I'll take that any day of the week over damaging hail. Now the one fixing to hit me looks to have hail in it. Sure hope not.

Huge hail storm in north Houston! Just recieved 15 minutes of pounding hail (with pieces up to HALF DOLLAR SIZE!!!!). My ground *was* briefly coated, but currently rain and smaller hail is melting most away. Pieces over penny size still remain on outside furniture. I have no idea if there was damage, but I will go outside to assess after the storm ends. INSANE!!!

This is odd - we had 2 areas of storms. One coming from the NW and another coming from the SW. What amazes me is the storm from the NW slammed into the other one at the Harris/Montgomery county line, and essentially, juts swallowed the other storm and now the whole complex is pressing south/SE into Houston. Amazing!

there has supposedly been many reports of golf ball sized hail (and I can verify that...as it is STILL falling). There has also been a report of a tornado and more storms are forming behind this.
