Wind ROSE - does anyone know...

#1 Postby scorpdream » Wed Jun 14, 2006 1:24 pm

where I can get that type of information for a certain area? I have checked witht he local noaa/nws office and they gave me a few things like avg direction and speed and max peak gusts. Is this all the information involved in a wind rose?

The NWS office was correct in giving you average direction (divided into 15 or 30 degree increments), along with mean speed and max peak gusts for said direction. That is all the information you need to construct your wind rose. To get the information for a certain area, consult NCDC to get your climate data.
