LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS AND SKYWARN SPOTTERS. DANGEROUS FLASH
FLOODING WAS OCCURING ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM HOOKS AIRPORT TO
NEAR THE MEDICAL CENTER TO NEAR HOBBY WHERE VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WAS
STILL OCCURRING. FLOODING WILL CONTINUE FOR AREAS ALONG THE
INTERSTATE 10 CORRIDOR FROM DOWNTOWN HOUSTON EASTWARD. ADDITIONAL
RAINFALL OF 1 TO 3 INCHES POSSIBLE OVER THESE HARD HIT AREA POSSIBLE.

My son had to turn around and come home. He couldn't get to work. Where he was at when he turned around was at 290 and West Road. Rain rates there were at 5"/hr. just like we had during Allison. Our local OCM's are even starting to say we could see some isolated amounts similar to Allison! 
Already some homes on the SE and ne side of Houston with water in them.

Wow VB! I have not seen any local news yet......daughter is watching Nick. This is turning into another amazing flood event. Only .13" at my house in Galveston Co. Everyone be safe today in our area.

Help! This is the only source of info I have today. I got in to work but half my team didn't ....so if anyone hears info on SW side of Houston please pass it on....I am with Alief and working at high school and have to head further southwest to get home....so please send on info...no tv here or radio....*waaaaaaa*.....

That's pretty amazing stuff and it proves that being on the roads at night is way so dangerous because you won't be able to recognize where the water is and what the depth of that water is until it's too late.
There is a good possibility between Houston and Galveston of more flooding rains later tonight as well. Another 5-10 inches of rain cannot be ruled out again tonight. This comes after the 5-10 inches of rainfall we had so far this morning on the south side of Houston. Radar estimates show over 10 inches has fallen south of Houston very close to Hobby Airport.
This is a potentially dangerous flash flood episode coming up during the next 24 hours.

Several on our staff were late this am and several others are flooded in and can't get out-no reporsts of water in their houses yet that I am aware of. Still back building and raining on the W side of Houston where I am. If that ULL that is sitting over NE Metro Houston area retrogrades SW as predicted, this already ugly situation is going to get even uglier I fear. It isn't yet a citywide event, but is darn close. quack!! quack!!

Even if it tapers off later today, it might come back later tonight. This is a very critical next 24-30 hour period coming up between Houston and Galveston and in both of the cities. While these areas need the rain, too much at once has been the problem recently and that is more evident today. Tonight could potentially be ugly once again.
Will watch this closely.

impressive rainfall totals tonight across southern Liberty
and eastern Harris and Chambers counties with maximum six hour totals
in the 3-7 inch range across this area. Needless to say flooding
is likely occurring and will continue as the thunderstorm cluster is
back-building with only a very slow shift southward. Have
decided to extend the Flood Watch through 4 PM for the same
area as is currently in effect.
The main forecast issue is the track of the middle/upper low which
appears to be broad and nearly stationary tonight...roughly
centered just northeast of of Liberty County. Have trended the
forecast toward the latest GFS which shows a very slow track
to the SW...back over the County Warning Area today and positioned along the
Upper Texas coast tonight. Unfortunately this track will likely
bring very heavy rainfall to the coastal counties and first
inland tier counties. We will likely need the watch to go
through Monday night as we could see a similar rainfall
tonight as to what we are currently seeing...just shifted a
little SW. Will let the next shift see how the low moves today and
make that decision. Current thinking is an additional 5-7 inches
is possible today in isolated areas...at least similar or slightly
higher amounts could be on tap Monday night. Needless to say...this
is a serious flood threat for southeast areas of southeast Texas for the next 30
hours...much like a slow moving tropical system.
The low is expected to eventually shift west of the area with a
gradual decrease in probability of precipitation later this week. 33
