Will it EVER end?

#1 Postby Colin » Tue Jul 22, 2003 8:24 pm

We have been getting creamed the past 2 days here in Eastern Pennsylvania. Yesterday we had a storm that lasted from about 7:30 to 10:30...with the rain/lightning continuing until about midnight. A Severe Thunderstorm Warning was in effect for that...got 2.62" in that period of time.

And TODAY, we are getting creamed again...the ground is so saturated that a 5 minute downpour just about flooded the streets, and looking at the radar, there is no end in sight except for that little lull... http://weather.noaa.gov/radar/loop/DS.p ... kdix.shtml

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 10:30 PM, but I think that'll be extended if you look at the loop... :o A Flash Flood Watch is in effect until early tomorrow morning, but I have a feeling it'll be extended through tomorrow since showers and thunderstorms are once again in the forecast for tomorrow.

So far, we've gotten about 3", with a lot more coming. :o :o :o

Close to 3.5 inches of rain has fallen at my house in the past 2 days, with more possible today and tonight. Luckily, I don't live in a flood-prone area. With all the rain I have seen since last October, there has only been one instance of minor flooding during that period of time - and that was about 1/2 mile from my house.
