According to the LA Times, it was a very strong storm off the coast of South America last week. I doubt you could find it now - if it still exists it's over the Indian Ocean. They didn't say it was a temperate storm but there haven't been any tropical whoppers this week. This was a big storm-hurricane force winds, typically occuring only a few times a year.
