TORNADOES STRIKE BRITAIN

#1 Postby Weatherwarning » Tue Nov 28, 2006 7:10 am

Can anyone tell me why Britain should suddenly be suffering from tornadoes (see http://www.express.co.uk)?

Is this a new weather phenomena caused by global warming?

In an article in Weatherwise about 30 years ago, Dr. Tetsuya Fujita noted that the frequency of tornadoes per 10000 sq miles was at least as high as that of the US with the only difference being that they were generally smaller and weaker than in the US and generally underreported.

The number of people, and reporting sensors, are on the increase not the number of tornadoes.
