Supercell hail storm and tornado in Portugal

In this beautiful day of September a cold drop causes an unstable time by flow of western south on the country, and in particular on the north of Portugal. This kind of situation was already described by Paula Leitao, the expert of tornadoes in Portugal, to be at the origin of the training of violent one storms and sometimes even of tornadoes on the country.

The storms start to be formed early in the course of the day, then a cell more virulent than the others organizes and carries on its way towards north. It proves to be a stormy supercellule for the size of hail and the exceptional character of the event. Let us hail of 7 cm are collected and of the wind gusts of + of 90 km/h are raised at the closest stations. An eyewitness even saw a tornado tearing off trees and causing damage to 13 km in north east of Braga.

What an intense line of thunderstorms; for that part of the World.

My father is actually Portuguese, and my family have spent several Summer Vacations in the beautiful country (in and around Lisbon, being more precise), when I was growing up. I've never heard of such a thing happening there, especially nothing that widespread.
