Twin supercells chased last wednesday in Spain. INCREDIBLE!

These some of the best supercell photographs that I have never seen before, and they are the best never taken in Spain to me :eek: :eek: :eek:

Mesocyclones were identified by Doppler in both structures. As I remember, one of them was an anticyclonic supercell.

What kind of supercells do you think they were? I would say LP type or classic.

Great pictures! The landscape kind of reminds me of the United State's inter-mountain west.

I love watching storms develop.

Close to a town called Arnedillo and Ocón, in La Rioja, northern Spain. You can look for that location in the Google Maps :D

I'm going to say both. At first it appears to be a HP Supercell, lots of precipitation...then it transitioned into a mix of HP/LP and finally at the end, it had a very small precip area and the "bell" shape you'd expect
from a LP Supercell.

Granted, I'm going by photos and radar, though the radar seems to not show much activity the entire time (where the arrows are pointed) so not sure.
