In northeastern picture you can see the island of Samothraki.There is small "cyclones", which even an eye form then move on the southwest and dissolve.Intresting :P :P

Not as pretty as that, but the 'marine layer', the area of low clouds and fog often off-shore Southern California, caused by condensation over the very cold shelf water upwelling, will sometimes form swirls and eddies like that.

It's an island causing the air to move in a spiral motion. I believe the term for a long line would be a "vortex street". I don't believe, however, that I have ever seen one with clouds wrapped around a clear center.

They seem to me Von-Karman vortexes... Although I have never seen some like those... :eek:

They're definitely Von Karmans, although the single direction rotation is fairly odd, though certainly not unprecedented, and the 'eye' feature is very, very unusual.
