1990 was a particularly bad year for European windstorms. Between late January and early March, six windstorms wreaked havoc on Europe. Four of them were billion dollar disasters.

Finland: $5 million
Ireland: $30 million
Norway: $10 million
Sweden: $5 million
United Kingdom: 47 deaths, $3.4 billion
Belgium: 10 deaths, $350 million
France: $400 million
Germany: 8 deaths, $1.2 billion
Luxembourg: $90 million
Netherlands: 20 deaths, $1.2 billion

Total: 85 deaths, $6.86 billion

"Herta" 2/3-2/4/1990
United Kingdom: $10 million
Belgium: $180 million
France: 23 deaths, $900 million
Germany: 7 deaths, $600 million
Luxembourg: $90 million
Netherlands: $180 million

Total: 30 deaths, $1.96 billion

"Judith" 2/7-2/8/1990
United Kingdom: $60 million
Belgium: $60 million
France: $60 million

"Nana" 2/11-2/12
