The Insurance Council of Australia says the damage bill from the wild weather which hit parts of south-east Queensland over the weekend is likely to grow.
Storms on Saturday and Sunday nights caused widespread damage across Ipswich and Brisbane.
Insurance council spokesman Graham Jones says the damage bill so far is estimated at just under $3 million (USD 2,337,900).
"They vary from small claims for replaced tiles, broken windows, to total devastation of properties and motor vehicles because of trees falling through them," he said.
