Disaster officials in Fiji say seven people are confirmed dead, nine people are missing and hundreds are homeless following a severe storm on Thursday.
The storm hit the main island of Viti Levu, bringing heavy rain and flooding, damaging roads, villages and farms on the northern side of the island.
Some 300 families from villages dotted along rivers in the Tailevu and Naitasiri provinces are homeless, while their plantations have also been destroyed.
However, the director of Fiji's Disaster Management Committee, Joeli Rokovada, has told AFP he wasn't yet able to comment on the overall cost of the damage.
On Sunday, Fiji Prime Minister Laisenia Qarase toured the areas worst hit by the floodwaters.
The seven confirmed dead all drowned -- in the worst single incident, a landslide pushed a bus carrying five people into the heavily flooded Wainibuka River, north of Suva.
