Sun Sentinel Global Warming Article

Article may have merit regarding the planet's warming, but scaring people by implying SFL will be under water in 50 years seems irresponsible, IMO.

Yeah its very off the wall. There been towns and cities on the coast for more then 100 years in Oregon and washington. I don't think it has risen by 8 inches. I can't confirm this but this is from a few times I've got there.

Yes LA and low laying area's of florida may go under. But 95 percent of it will be here in 200 years from now. Also there will still be a florida, unless a hurricane takes it out. Which is unlikely.

Todays paper had 2 pages of it, with almost the whole front page with it. They are trying hard to scare people. They act like we are all going to die if this keeps.

I don't think the people in Kiribati, Tuvalu and other island nations in the Pacific, who are suffering from increased flooding due to the higher sea levels, would agree with you.

A lot of newspapers and news channels might be overreacting, but maybe that's the only way to make people aware of this problem.
