Based on location and magnitude, the Lower Keys were in no trouble.

looking at the latest on this earthquake and they changed it from a 6.1 to a 6.2. Not a big change but they did change it.

Is it my imagination or is the whole Carribean area becoming more active Earthquake wise?

Starting to look that way. That was a strong earthquake that hit though and in the other thread one of the members is posting a forecast for earthquakes but i haven't seen any of his come true yet. I don't even see how you can forecast a earthquake they hit when they want no matter what. And i couldn't find anything in his forecast about the 6.2 magnitude earthquake that his just south of Cuba.

6/7/1692 Jamaica (magnitude unknown) (deadly and destructive)

11/18/1867 Puerto Rico (magnitude unknown) (produced a small tsunami)

1/14/1907 Kingston, Jamaica 6.5 1,600 dead

10/11/1918 Mona Passage (near Puerto Rico) 7.5 116 dead (produced a 9.5ft tsunami)

8/4/1946 Dominican Republic 8.0 100 dead

9/22/2003 Dominican Republic 6.5

11/21/2004 Leeward Islands 6.3

12/14/2004 Cayman Islands 6.8
