Weather forecasting in Portugal

#1 Postby MetSul Weather Center » Fri Feb 09, 2007 12:08 pm

In Portugal, a panel and a stone are used in weather forecasting:

Image

In the panel you can read:

Wet Stone: Rainy
Dry Stone: Dry weather
Shadow in the ground: Sunny
White stone: Snowing
You do not see the stone: Foggy
Shaking stone: Windy
Stone up and down: Earthquake
The stone is no longer there: Tornado

It reads in the Panel Instituto de Meteorologia (Portuguese Weather Service), but I am sure It is true.

I saw this somewhere before that was in English and in North America. I think it was on someone's yard and it was meant as something funny.
