Iceland seeing the most ice in years

#1 Postby Extremeweatherguy » Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:06 pm

Interesting article...

Seems like Iceland is seeing the most ice in recent memory, even topping the event 40 years ago. Crazy situation for sure.

Interesting article? More like poorly researched crap.

The article attempts to suggest that this is an indication that Global Warming is not happening at rates previously thought. How many times must people be told that a local weather event says absolutely nothing about global warming before it sinks into their skulls?

Actually, the last part of the article suggests that GW is indeed happening. It says that the melting ice is the reason polar bear reach iceland and killer whales venture more north.

Maybe its because of increased moisture over the ice sheets=more snow and ice. Cold air holds very little moisture to warmer air,,,So there is the way a warmer ocean would cause more snowfall. It also on the other hand be getting cooler, which would mean less melting. Which would likely look like it is slowing. But who knows.

GW does not negate the possibility of regional cooling.
