STORM of feb. 1987 south pacific

Cyclone Connie (or its remnants, I doubt it remained tropical all that time) managed to reach the Great Australian Bight by January 24, 1987 according to BoM best track (I'm looking at satellite pictures on GIBBS and I'm seeing it still over land on the 27th). It's not unreasonable that the remnants of Connie reached the Tasman Sea by early February.

Looking through the GIBBS archives, though, I'm not sure this is your system since there's a large extratropical system with a front trailing into the Tasman Sea on February 11th.
