This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

#1 Postby WindRunner » Wed Aug 17, 2005 3:12 pm

I was surprised that someone hadn't done this already, so I decided to.

I say 11am Thurs.

Also, how does TD10 become a TS without it being "Jose"

I think it will be upgraded back up to TD 10 sometime today and then become a Tropical storm tomorrow!

We do have a TD10, as it was initialized as such (stronger winds) in the recent model runs. 98% chance you'll see it (TD) back at 5, if I understand the discussion that's been going on the past two hours.

Here's the thread from a couple of hours ago:

If its a 98% it will be back at 5:00, then its not back. I don't see any indication that its any better now than it was at 11AM.

dwg71: Well, I can't say anything about the coordination, but I trust the navy in-between NHC advisories, and the TCFAs are pretty relaible, that's why only 98%.

And I don't think "clone" is quite right.

Did I miss something, I just updated the NHC site and got the 5PM advisories for Irene but nothing for TD#10. Is it just late or is it still a wave.

There isn't a TD10. This kind of poll could confuse infrequent visitors into thinking there is a TD, when there isn't. Maybe just say "the remnants of TD10" or "the low formerly known as Prince, I mean TD10" or better yet, how about the poll asking when the remnants will be classified as a TD again? :)

Sorry about that southerngale, all indications from the model runs and the navy were saying regen at 5, so i put this up 45 min early so that it would get some attention before the anticipated advisory came out. I'll change the title accordingly.
