Eastern Atlantic Tropical Summary - EATS OUT on August 26, 2005

Where did our little guys go?
Perhaps the favorable MJO has actually started to add moisture to the
eastern Atlantic. The area hasn't looked this moist in a long time.
Invest 97L continues to fight the ULL to its northwest and some dry air.
The dry air isn't as bad as it was. The circulation still shows shear
on the west side, but the system is trying to form some banding-like
features on the east side. This system may develop into a tropical
cyclone in the next 48-72 hours.
A tropical wave near 35W is moving west, and I do not expect this to
develop in the next 24-48 hours.

97L is 99% sure to be a fish.
I think that wave at 35w starts developing in the 3-day range. That one worries me as a possible east coast threat. Still not confident where it goes relative to the islands. Could go north of them or it could go through the leewards. Depends on how developed it is in the 3-5 day range when it should be pulled NW by the trough. After that, I think ridging builds in again.
I don't know ... the globals seem to lose it, so I may be out to lunch on this one.
