Hammond Info needed

#1 Postby Garnetcat5 » Mon Aug 29, 2005 9:58 am

Info for Hammond needed for a friend...What parish is it? Does anyone know what is happening there? Sorry I can't get into chatroom. Please wife took kids and left husband there because they wouldn't leave and she's stuck in a small town out of communication and worried sick. Any info on how they may be doing would be appreciated.

Hammond is on the NW side of the lakes above I-12 and close to BR. I have no idrect information on that area, but they should be in pretty good shape compared to NO area and MS coast since they are in the NW quadrant of the hurricane. This is not to say they are not getting strong squalls, torrential rains, and damage, but people in that area should be relatively safe, so to speak. I doubt there are any good communications into the area, however. Have they tried by cell phone?
