I don't know if this was already reported, but I just got off of work.
My father is Deputy Chief of Gulf Shores and he told me earlier today that the storm surge reached the same point as it did in Ivan. For those familiar in the area...the water came up HWY 59 to just south of Ft. Morgan Road.
Very unfortunate...
