DJ Miss Official:Katrina Claims Over 100 Lives In Biloxi Area
NEW ORLEANS (AP)--Rescuers along the hurricane-ravaged Gulf Coast pushed aside the dead to reach the living Tuesday in a race against time and rising waters, while New Orleans sank deeper into crisis and Louisiana''s governor ordered storm refugees out of this drowning city. The death toll in one hard-hit Mississippi county rose to more than 100. "We are very, very worried that this is going to go a lot higher," said Joe Spraggins, civil defense director for Harrison County, home to Biloxi and Gulfport. "We''re just estimating but the number could go double or triple from what we''re talking now."

oh wow, if that's just Biloxi we could be in for some really high #s considering if they expect that 100+ number to double or triple just in Biloxi. What about the rest of Harrison Cty. like Gulfport or those areas in Hancock Cty. like st. louis bay/waveland/pass christian, pashquaisqu(sp) parish in SE LA where there are unconfirmed reports of many deaths, and finally i am sure there will be deaths in NO proper with all the flooding, disease, etc. that is to follow with all that stagnant water

Two bad things I have heard..In Bay St Louis they are just marking Red X's on the houses with dead bodies in them because they have no room for them ,since they have no refrigeration trucks...Mayor of Biloxi estmates only 30 percent of the 25000 people living near the coast even bothered to evacuate...this is going to get alot worse

I heard it was BLACK marks for the dead,RED for the injured
I just have a terrible feeling when all is said and done, the death toll will surpass 1000
