ATLC vs. WPAC

I know...it feels weird to say it too. But apparently the Atlantic and Western Pacific are in a race against each other. Will this be the first time in recorded history that the Atlantic has more tropical cyclones than the Western Pacific?? Please add your comments.

Right now the Atlantic is over the WPAC by one 16 vs 15.

Even that we are ahead, I feel that the WPAC will bounce back taking the lead at anytime.

WPAC should win out in the end, unless we see a lot of late- or out-of-season development.

For now the Atlantic should hold the lead but at the end of the year, the WPAC should regain and hold on to the lead for good.

14 named systems in the WPAC vs 14 in the Atlantic. I'd say that was level.

Hmm, well I have found several records with a TD30+ in the WPAC records, so I say they can win. I don't want any of that.

It's pretty obvious that the WPAC will win, somehow Atlantic doesn't know how to pace itself in years such as this one.

Its amazing even being this close to the WPAC, much less being in the lead. The WPAC blows the ATL away by at least 15 each year usually. Heck even the EPAC has more storms usually. Amazing. And the ATL absolutely decimated the EPAC this year no questions. 14-9 and gonna be 15-9 soon.

Both basins may be more active by October given increasing equatorial surrounding moisture IMO

If we beat the West-Pac this year, we're all going to party like never before. Can you imagine? This would equate to a #16 seed beating a #1 seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Only difference is, you can expect that to happen sometime soon, but us beating the West-Pac, we never could've dreamed it!
