Those are the mid level winds are you looking at the upper level winds?

There steering currents are very light right now causing this thing to not move.

Please be sure you know which maps to use before posting such a bold statement...Shear maps do NOT EVER show the direction a storm will move...just because there is a map with an arrow pointing in the direction of your hoped-for movement does not mean anything. :D

You shouldn't use that chart for steering flow...it's a shear map...not a steering flow map. If that chart was to be used as steering...then you would have seen Ophelia moving east already...and probably all along since the shear has been in that direction all along. Instead...she still sits stationary. Look back 12 hours ago...and you will see the same flow exists...and she is still stationary...so this map is not good for steering.

Still, it is true that the path of least resistence lies to the east of Ophelia...
