Question??

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Question??

#1 Postby wxwonder12 » Fri Sep 09, 2005 8:09 am

What would be the make the difference in Ophelia doing a large, wider loop, compared to a smaller loop, if she were to actually loop? Obviously the larger loop would seem to me to bring her more S. as the smaller, tighter loop may keep her more N. Also, after the loop is made is what will determine the West movement compared to the Northwest or North movement?

Just trying to learn at this point :D

Depends on the strength of the ridge that builds in after the trough lifts out. A bigger, stronger ridge would cause a larger loop.
