I just want to let it be known, I do agree that Katrina was extremely impressive. Unfortunately, it was a bad impressive. That is why Katrina is #15 of the storms for 2005. It will almost definitely stay at the bottom for the rest of the year.

I know that's not the common opinion, and that what I'm saying isn't very popular, but I stand by it to my death.

Also Katrina will almost certainly have her name retired.

Well, we all know who will get my Storm of the Year Award at the end of the season. However, I don't think that's what this poll is asking. I interepret it as, "which storm was your favorite, in a good way?" That being said, I picked Irene. True, she never hit land, but she was quite the cinderella story. Everyone had left her for dead as a weak storm that was going to be a fish, but she silenced the doubters and did something that shocked everyone: headed for the U.S east coast. She just couldn't quite make it to us here in NC, but still, to come back from being on life support to being a solid hurricane with her eye on a landfall is a pretty big accomplishment.
