WOW-What a difference a few hours makes.

Rita, is becoming much better organized. Cloud tops have cooled to -80c over the center. Banding to the north has improved markedly the last few hours. I suspect Rita is very near hurricane strength. If this trend continues there is every reason to believe we will have a 100-110 mph cane tommorrow. I live on Fort Lauderdale Beach and we just had a squall come through with torrential rains and a wind gust to 41 mph which caused the lights to flicker and the storm is 200 miles away...

Agreed, the storm is rapidly deepening - it's literally bombing out south of Andros Island - when do we get the latest recon?

Wow lights flickering. Hmmm, you better stay inside. Its very very scary...
