Seriously thow , if there is a repetative patter to something happening weather wise it's because there is a physics reason for it. Example , my city anchorage has moutains on one side and ocean on the other. When we get precipitation there is ALWAYS more on the hillside. Now if I was religious nut I could just say , welp god hates them hillside people. But of course they get more precipitation because of a fundamental weather dynamic nothing more nothing less.

Awesome post...Someone from Alaska stating they don't get any severe weather.

I'm in Florida and I call months of daylight and then months of darkness, and freezing temps....blizards, etc....SEVERE weather!

Your one bad mutha (*&$##(* !

:D :D :D :D :D :D

Firstly , daylight no daylight is the arctic circle , north shore of alaska. Not many people up there. We in south central alaska while we get big shifts in how much daylight there is don't go without either really (thow it can seem like it at times depending on yoru schedual).

Secondly freezing temps , and blizards. We have extremly mild winters now adays compared to when I grew up. Member alaska's temp has raised an average of 3.5 degree's thx to global warming , it's had a dramatic effect on our winters. I can't remember the last "bizzard" we had. In any event for someone who has grown up up here I find it highly amusing the lower48 gets worse winters then us now , and I'm not kidding.

I'd rather be in a cold climate anyway , you can always put on more cloths to stay warm , you can't always take more off.

So since we don't get tornado's , no hurricains , hell we are thrilled just to see a thuderstorm about once a year. I'd say in the world of severe weather we dont' get any.

Anchorage pretty much has fair skies, a nice breeze, and the occasional 9.2 earthquake.
