Cant even mention we are getting gusts here to mention rita's bands without sarcasm..

Its sad.

Maybe...just MAYBE...a new thread about 20 mph gusts is not warranted. Maybe...just MAYBE...it could be included in an already existing thread.

just my opinion.

Ditto, AFM!

:D Not criticizing you, Noah! You are seeing some effects from Rita, and wanted to let people know. But this thread has now brought up some good points.

When it comes to being sensitive to other people's feelings, I think there is another viewpoint not yet mentioned:

a. a lot of people are very nervous after Katrina
b. they are looking, often with trepidation and limited time, for information
c. they open the talkin tropics forum and see 50 new posts about 1 thing(i.e. Rita), and get frustrated at having to search for something they posted to an hour ago, which is lost in the shuffle
d. the board slows down to a crawl with all the posts taking place

Our wonderful Admins have organized this forum very well, and devote countless hours to keeping it so!! We can be kind to each other, respect the Admins, and reduce slowdown of the board, during a major event like this, by not starting new threads every time an idea pops into our head. And also by ignoring trolling threads intended to fire people up, and not reply to them, so they will drop to the bottom as quickly as possible. That is consideration, too.

Overcast, no rain, temps in the high 80's, very breezy (15-25mph)!
I love this weather! I wish I was at home I would be outside in the hammock taking a nap!
