Kevin_Cho wrote:Wind Gusts in excess of TS Strength affected the City of Naples today, and extremely blinding horizontal rain for about 1 hour, then died down. It was a pretty impressive squall line. The winds were sustained at about 45 MPH for a few minutes, with gusts well over 50 MPH, mostly between 11:58 and 12:15 PM today.

oo 50 mph, man that's intense, might get a twig blown off into your yard. I get stronger winds in an afternoon thunderstorm. How the hell is that "impressive"?

Ok this is serious not a funny thing to downplay what this member has experienced in the area.

What is your problem? That is just extremely rude.

Everyone is welcome to post the hurricane observations from their local areas on this board. Kevin wasn't posting to impress people with the wind speed, he was posting an observation that it's a bit unusual for winds that strong to be that far from a storm that wasn't even a hurricane earlier this morning.

He wasn't looking to make you feel like any less of a man.

We had an outer band here in Port St Lucie last night the rain was really bad but the wind was only gusting to about 25mph. Today has been a different story. Winds about 22mph gusting to 35mph not that impressive but still makes me nervous. I am alot further north than Naples and it is effecting us here.

50 MPH can blow over a small tree with weak roots. It can also break a tree limb causing isolated power outages.

Exactly and what may not seem like anything to some people can be very bothersome to others. Since I was hit by 2 canes in 3 weeks last year I get nervous if the wind is 50mph.

This post is completely uncalled for. Especially the language.
