My friend going to Galveston, TX

My friend is supposed to go to galveston on Friday, will galveston have severe impacts because he's quite concerned if he should go or not.

Umm... NOT a good idea at this point. Galveston is well within the cone for a direct hit.

in short, if this thing hits freeport as a cat 4, the island of galveston will be under water. so, I hope he brings his floatees.

Not quite sure about the facts...but, i think she will need a special sticker to get back in, only those who work or live there will be allowed in.

he's going to wait until tomorrow to see how things go with Rita and its track, if galveston is expected to get hit hard then he is definetelly not going, probably go next week

I know someone planning to fly into Houston on Friday afternoon.

I politely suggested to his spouse that he might want to reconsider those plans...

well he planned his trip for a couple of weeks now, already has a seat reserved on the plane, I hope he uses his judgement.

The decision may be made for him... no airline is going to send people deliberately into a hurricane.

Yup, no one is being allowed on the island after 6PM tomorrow, unless they have verifiable proof that they are essential UTMB employees, law enforcement, or other stuff like that.

In short - tourists need to head elsewhere.

I hope he gets to visit us sometime in the future. :)
