After being overcast all day yesterday and today, we're having our first rain now. Heavy thunderstorm and very, very dark outside.

Extremely hot with a slight wind blowing here 45 miles due south of Houston. Hard to believe with this heat (the hottest day I can remember this year) that we will not be protected by this high. Makes hurricane prep very difficult. I'll be leaving early in the am. I'm about 27 ft. above sea level. Hope it's enough to avoid surge.
