This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Pressure rising, relative humidity low, all over Texas ....

#1 Postby BReb » Wed Sep 21, 2005 6:18 pm

this is good news isn't it? At 6:15 central I checked the weather.com pages for Corpus Christi, Houston, Austin and even Lubbock and it had an upward arrow next to the barometric pressure and low humidity level at all stations (e.g. 33% in Corpus Christi).

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/US ... earch_city

Unless I'm seriously off base here, the rising pressure (especially in Lubbock) would seem to indicate the high pressure is holding firm and the low humidity would seem to show conditions are good for dry air entrainment. Am I incorrect?

"Pressure are falling across texas!!! "

I randomly checked:

Corpus Christi

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/US ... earch_city

Lubbock

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/US ... earch_city

Houston

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/US ... earch_city

and

Austin

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/US ... earch_city

and they all show the upward pressure arrow as of 6 pm central. Seemed like a representative sampling, but maybe not.

I may be way off base but I thought I saw the lowering of humidity with Katrina too. I thought or maybe I dreamed that a hurricane so powerful is like drawing in all the moisture in the gulf areas.

"that's falling man"

I believe you- just reporting what weather.com says- they've got an upward arrow on Flower Mound as well:

http://www.weather.com/weather/local/US ... earch_city

even though it's only 29.91. Maybe it was even lower an hour or so ago but is now rising. I'm just reporting what weather.com is saying.
